Claire Ranshaw, Manor Wood Primary School

My children (aged 10 and 5) have both thoroughly enjoyed using the app. My 5-year-old daughter, who is currently receiving specialist support for dyslexia, has been particularly engaged (I’ve used it more with her due to her needs). Because she loves singing, she has been having so much fun she barely realises she is learning. I find that the rhythmic nature of the songs is a significant benefit for her learning and progress potential.

I found the ability to adjust the difficulty levels-moving from Year 1 songs to EYFS to better suit her needs to be a standout feature. Adding physical actions to the songs has helped her grasp concepts like the number composition of 3 and 4, which she hadn’t fully understood before. It is one of the few educational activities she proactively asks to do, which speaks to the high interest factor of the program.

My 10-year-old son, who also has dyslexia, has been most motivated by the creative side of the app. He prefers making his own songs over using the ones I created for him! I can see this being a very effective tool for reinforcing more complex concepts that he finds challenging.

In my professional work with a group of pupils with ADHD, the collaborative aspect was amazing. We also used the program to create songs for an Autism Awareness assembly. While we experienced a slight technical delay with songs remaining in the queue, the process of co-creating the lyrics was a fantastic experience for them.

“It’s easy to create and assign quizzes, and I liked that teachers can generate songs too.  The app seems best suited for specialised learning, small groups, or one-to-one tuition.”

“I found Loujo helpful not only for dyslexic learners but for students with ADHD and others who have learning or comprehension difficulties. The musical approach seems to support focus, recall, and engagement across different learning profiles.”
