FAQs
What is Loujo?
Loujo is a specialised educational service that creates personalised educational songs to help children with dyslexia learn, understand, and retain academic information in a fun and highly effective way. We transform challenging school topics into engaging, memorable music.
Why use songs to teach children with dyslexia?
Music is a powerful tool for memory and learning. Children with dyslexia often benefit immensely from multi-sensory learning that moves beyond traditional reading methods. Songs engage auditory processing, rhythm, and melody, leveraging the brain's non-verbal memory centres to make the information stick more readily than text alone.
What subjects can Loujo songs cover?
We can create songs for nearly any subject your child is struggling to retain, including:
Maths concepts (e.g., times tables, formulae, long division steps)
Science facts (e.g., the water cycle, parts of a cell, chemical processes)
English Language (e.g., tricky spelling words, grammar rules, story sequencing)
History and Geography (e.g., key names, dates, capital cities) If your child needs to memorise it, we can put it to music!
How is a Loujo song "personalised"?
Our songs are tailored in two essential ways:
The Content: The lyrics are specifically written to the exact curriculum material or homework your child needs help with.
The Style: We take into account your child's musical preferences (e.g., Jazz, pop, classical, ballad) to craft a song they will genuinely want to listen to repeatedly.
How It Works
The process is straightforward:
Provide the Content: Teachers and parents use simple prompt (e.g., a homework sheet, a list of facts, a revision guide) you want the song to cover.
Discuss Preferences: Let us know your child's favourite music genres and what motivates them.
We Create the Song: Our team of experienced educators and musicians writes, records, and produces a unique, high-quality song.
You Receive the Song: We deliver the final audio file and a lyric sheet, ready for immediate use!
How long does it take to receive a finished song?
Turnaround time usually depends on the complexity of the material and our current workload, but we typically deliver the final song within 20 seconds.
Do you provide the lyrics along with the song?
Absolutely. Every song package includes a lyric sheet. This allows the child (and parent/tutor) to follow along, helping to visually reinforce the information as they listen.
How does this help with retention and recall for children with dyslexia?
The brain processes music and language in different areas. By setting academic content to a specific melody and rhythm, we create a strong, rhythmic memory cue. This bypasses typical reading difficulties, allowing the child to simply sing the answer when they need to recall information for a test or task. Regular listening (repetition) makes the recall automatic.
Is Loujo a substitute for tutoring or specialised learning programmes?
No. Loujo is a powerful supplementary tool. We are designed to work alongside existing tutoring and specialised programmes by making the content of those lessons easier to remember and recall. Our focus is on information retention, not foundational literacy skills.
What kind of impact should I expect to see?
Parents and teachers typically report:
Increased confidence and reduced anxiety around specific subjects.
Faster memorisation of key facts, lists, and processes.
Improved recall during tests, exams, and homework.
A more positive attitude towards studying and tackling difficult curriculum material.
